Time magazine blasted for Donald Trump cover after it emerged migrant child in image

publication used the photograph of crying toddler Yanela Hernandez – an
image that initially became the symbol of the US immigrant crisis when
it went viral last week
Time magazine has been blasted for its latest cover, which shows Trump glaring down at the crying toddler
In the photoshopped picture, Trump is seen staring down at the two-year-old, accompanied by the headline: “Welcome to America.”
But critics were quick to blast the publication after the Honduran girl’s dad, Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, revealed the shot was taken as his wife, Sandra Sanchez, was searched at a detention centre near McAllen, Texas.
Denis further claimed his wife had actually crossed the border in search of a job and was allowed to stay with her daughter.
Condemning Time’s front cover, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Saunders said: “It’s shameful that Democrats and the media exploited this photo of a little girl to push their agenda.
