Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama in 2009 failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would, its ex-secretary has said.

Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.

Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for".

In the one-sentence announcement, the Holy See said only that Francis had accepted Becciu’s resignation as prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints “and his rights connected to the cardinalate.” Becciu, the former No. 2 in the Vatican’s secretariat of state, has been reportedly implicated in a financial scandal involving the Vatican’s investment in a London real estate deal that has lost the Holy See millions of euros in fees paid to middlemen.

 

 The powerful head of the Vatican’s saint-making office, Cardinal Angelo Becciu, resigned suddenly Thursday from the post and renounced his rights as a cardinal amid a financial scandal that has reportedly implicated him indirectly.

Think of how crazy this is. The man who is in charge of running the Vatican office that ‘creates saints’ is forced to resign under a cloud of scandal so dark that Pope Francis and the Vatican won’t even tell you what the reason is. Some are saying it is a financial scandal, perhaps related to the Vatican funding the Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’, which proudly featured Hollywood’s first gay sex scene. ROMAN RAINBOW: Pope Francis Becomes Gay Affirming Telling Parent Group Of LGBTQ+ Children That “God Loves Them Just As They Are’ 

 

Pope Francis told a group of parents of LGBTQ+ children yesterday that “God loves your children as they are” and “the church loves your children as they are because they are children of God.” He did so in a brief encounter with some 40 Italian parents (both mothers and fathers) of LGBTQ+ children after the public audience in the Renaissance courtyard of San Damaso in the Vatican. The parents are members of an Italian association, Tenda di Gionata (“Jonathan’s Tent”), which welcomes and provides information and formation to LGBTQ+.

Mara Grassi told Pope Francis, “We wish to create a bridge to the church so that the church too can change its way of looking at our children, no longer excluding them but fully welcoming them.”

 Having listened carefully to what she said, Pope Francis reassured her, “The church does not exclude them because she loves them deeply.” As he bade them farewell, the association gave the pope a rainbow-colored T-shirt with the words “In love there is no fear” emblazoned on it.

The Democrats, having now created the false narrative that Donald Trump would refuse to leave the White House should he lose the election, formed the Transition Integrity Project to have a framework in which to remove Trump, win or lose. That's the game here, it is a real deal coup in progress. Plans to remove Trump from office, even if he wins the election, are well underway.

Which is more likely translated into ‘they know he’ll be the clear winner as he was in 2016, but he needs to go anyway’. Plenty of Christians love to talk about love – and rightly so. It is a major attribute of God and is a major fruit of the Spirit, to be found in the lives of all Christians. But Scriptural love is not any old sort of love. This is not a mushy, sentimental and content-less love. This is not love as the world understands it. Biblical love is radically different. It is much firmer and much more solid than the ephemeral and saccharine sweet version of love that worldlings and unbiblical believers run with. Among other things, biblical love is always discriminating. Thus nothing could be further from the truth when people claim that “love does not discriminate.” Of course it does. It is NOT biblical love if it does not discriminate. Genuine love always entails willing the highest good of the other person. That requires discrimination. Thus the opposite of love is indifference. If you do not care about the other person, and do not mind them going down the tubes in their sinful condition, then you are not showing biblical love.

'It was like driving through hell,' Jody Evans told local television station News Channel 21 after a midnight evacuation from Detroit, about 50 miles west of Salem. Ninety major fires across 13 western states have already burned more than 3.4 million acres - the size of Connecticut - and are still spreading in high winds amid fears that the number of casualties will rise.

Three of the most Liberal and poorly-run states in the country – Washington, California and Oregon – have been hotbeds of radical violence from ANTIFA and the Black Lives Matter Movement. For months now, their city streets have burned from the fires set by social justice warriors, now that fire has extended to the rural areas, and the whole thing from city to country resembles a literal pit of Hell. Am I saying these fires have been set by ANTIFA and BLM rioters? Nope, just making an observation, that’s all.

Pray for the people of Washington, California and Oregon, their states are going up in flames rapidly as some of the larger fires are now starting to combine. When you add it all up together – coronavirus, lock downs, crashed economies, raging infernos, mandatory mask wearing – what does all that seem like to you? To me, it’s like the judgment of God

On Choosing Between Evils
The first oft-heard protestation coming from some rather misguided believers is that we must never choose between two evils. These folks are often purists who demand perfection in our choices, or nothing at all. This especially comes up during various election cycles, and it certainly has come up this year with the choice between Trump and Biden in the US.
How many times have we heard Christians say they cannot bring themselves to vote for Trump – no matter how utterly bad and anti-Christian the policies and platforms of the Democrats and Biden are. I need to keep pointing out some basic truths to these folks.
I need to remind them that Jesus is not running this year, so in a real world – in a fallen world – we have to make do with the actual alternatives at hand, and not some ethereal ideal that cannot be reached when it comes to preferred options in the November 3 election.
Yet these folks will go on about how we need some better alternative to run with. To which one can only respond: Yes, we all may well want something or someone ‘better’. So if and when this better alternative comes around, I do really hope these folks will let us all know who it is.

Another person rightly reminded us of how God himself has at times told his people to choose between various evils. Recall the stark choices that King David had to deal with as found in 
1 Chronicles 21:11-13
¹¹ So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Choose thee ¹² Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.

¹³ And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall into the hand of the LORD; for very great are His mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

While this was God’s judgment on David for his sinful actions, the point remains that in life we often have to choose between various less than ideal options. We need to prayerfully and carefully make such choices, and not opt out altogether until some unobtainable perfect option comes along.

CDC Now Admits That 94% Of All COVID Death Had Underlying Medical Conditions Meaning Only 9,683 People Actually Died From Coronavirus Alone

According to the CDC, comorbidity is defined as: " more than one disease or condition is present in the same person at the same time. Conditions described as comorbidities are often chronic or long-term conditions. Other names to describe comorbid conditions are coexisting or co-occurring conditions and sometimes also “multimorbidity” or “multiple chronic conditions." Comorbidity and underlying conditions can both be used to describe conditions that exist in one person at the same time. These can also contribute to a persons death who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control released information showing how many people who died from COVID-19 had comorbidities or underlying conditions as they are sometimes referred to by doctors.

Remember back when the COVID plannedemic first started, and Dr. Birx infamously stated that the CDC would could all deaths that included COVID, regardless of what the patient actually died from, would be recorded as COVID deaths? When they did that, the COVID death rate soared. Just this week, however, in a rare moment of truth, the CDC admitted that only 6% of the people who died from COVID actually died from COVID, and that the other 94% had underlining medical issues like heart failure and diabetes. So that means that only 9,683 people have actually died solely from COVID, 5 times less than people who died from the flu last year.
So what does all this tell us? It tells us that yes, COVID is a real virus and it really kills people. 10,000 death from COVID is a stunning loss to the families and loved ones of those people. But it also shows us the massive campaign of fear is being waged to make us isolate, make us wear masks, to lock us down and control us. How do I know that? Because obviously COVID is not the end times plague that have made it our to be, and that there are other contagious diseases far more deadly, like TB and the flu, and we’ve never been made to wear masks or lockdown.

Victoria has yet again been subject to another grievous assault by dictatorial thugs:

At 2 in the morning a handful of politicians applauded the passing of a bill to give an authoritarian ruler even more draconian powers for even longer. It gets to be extremely worrying when the real world of politics begins to merge with science fiction. What was that line from one of the Stars Wars films? “So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause”.
For those who value liberty, democracy and parliamentary rule, what happened earlier today would have sent shudders down your spine. I refer of course to the upper house in Victoria just barely passing Dan Andrew’s extension of his dictatorial powers.
In a 20-19 vote, three crossbenchers ensured that this became a fait accompli. Just in case you are not thrilled with the result, here are the three haters of freedom and their contact details. I do hope you get in touch with them and let them know what you think of this (politely yet firmly of course):
