THE INQUISITION:

Amazing, isn't it? Most churches today, either don't know, don't care, and certainly don't teach about the 605 years of INQUISITION, that TRUE BIBLE CHRISTIANS and many others, suffered under the wicked rule of the VATICAN, INQUISITORS - Jesuit and Dominican priests, who ruled over the secular powers during the DARK AGES.
"Secular authorities, whatever office they may hold, shall be admonished and induced and if necessary compelled by ecclesiastical censure, .. to take an oath that they will strive .. to exterminate in the territories subject to their jurisdiction all heretics pointed out by the Church."

Pope (not so) Innocent III

From around the 13th and into the 19th Century, those who refused to bow the knee to the Pope(s) were forcefully taken, tortured, their properties confiscated, and most of these people were either burned at the stake or died under the most cruel tortures imaginable.
Thomas Aquinas summed up the standard medieval position, when he declared that that obstinate heretics deserved "not only to be separated from the Church, but also to be eliminated from the world by death"
