With Little Support, Palestinians Forced
To Pull Unpopular UN Resolution Against Trump Peace Plan Then Call For
Riots In The Streets To Save Face (from NTEB)
On Monday, Palestinian officials denied nixing a bid for a draft
resolution at the Security Council opposing the American proposal,
entitled Vision for Peace. However, various officials have confirmed
member states, including European countries, did not support the text of
the resolution, which was drafted by Tunisia and Indonesia. Even
without the U.S.’ veto, the resolution was said to have not garnered
enough support by other member states, prompting Abbas to pull it at the
last minute in an attempt to save face.
Thousands of Palestinians took to the streets Tuesday to protest President Donald Trump’s recently unveiled peace plan amid a failed bid by the Palestinians to pass a UN resolution opposing the plan.
The Palestinians went to the United Nations this week in the hopes of getting a resolution passed that would oppose the Trump peace plan called ‘
Vision For Peace‘,
only to suffer a humiliating defeat when they received almost no
support for the plan. So to save face, they called for thousands of
Palestinians to riot in the streets of Ramallah to distract from the
fact they lost at the UN. The Palestinians better get used to the idea
of dealing with President Trump, as it looks like he is
well on his way to being re-elected in November.
