The Political Assassination of
Charlie Kirk.
Below, is a TRIBUTE from one of his friends.

Stephanie and I are traveling in Europe and have just heard the heartbreaking news that Charlie Kirk has been shot and killed at a university in Utah.
For me, this is personal. Charlie was a good friend of mine and of Summit Ministries. Each time we were on stage together, or backstage, Charlie shared of his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and are saved (Hebrews 10:39).
Charlie was not ashamed. He was not afraid. He listened to his detractors and patiently explained the truth, even when they only wanted to rail at him. At this moment, having just heard the news of Charlie’s death, I feel both anger and despair rising in my heart. Maybe you do too.
In times like this we must turn to God’s Word. Stephanie and I have been praying Psalm 46 this evening. Please, as soon as you finish reading this, take time to meditate on this Psalm and pray for Charlie’s dear wife Erika, for their beautiful babies, for the body of Christ, and for our nation.
The Psalmist writes:
“The Lord God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea…. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
We have also been praying 2 Timothy 3 over you:
“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
Charlie testified to the Lord Jesus Christ just seconds before he died. He knew that his life might be taken from him for what he believed. Yours and mine might be as well. This life is but a vapor. Only what is done for Christ will last.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our only comfort in this life and our only hope for the life to come. This is our testimony. The world desperately needs to hear it. Personally. From you and me.
Your friend in the Lord Jesus Christ,
—Dr. Jeff |
