KANSAS CITY, Mo. (ChurchMilitant.com) - A leading Catholic newspaper has named an openly gay "couple" as their persons of the year for 2015.
Progressive newspaper the National Catholic Reporter (NCR) designated Greg Bourke and Michael DeLeon, two "married" men, as persons of the year, describing them as being "emblematic of [the] major challenge facing the Church today."   
The report claims Bourke and DeLeon are a "Catholic couple who can — and do — tell the story of the benefits of same-sex marriage," noting the two are "lifelong prac­ticing Catholics and active members of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish" in Louisville, Kentucky. They provide, says the NCR, a "faithful public witness as gay Catholics."
Bourke and DeLeon, who are currently raising two children, both garnered media attention this year as plaintiffs in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court case in June that declared homosexual "marriage" a constitutional right.

Pope: The Immaculate, the icon of divine mercy that conquered sin.
During the Angelus, Pope Francis said that Mary is "the first saved" by God’s mercy. To celebrate her birthday means that we “become in turn architects of mercy” defeating “our selfishness” and making “the lives of our brothers and sisters happier” by “drying tears and giving a bit of joy”. This afternoon Francis went to the Spanish Steps to pay homage to Our Lady before moving on to Saint Mary Major. The crowd gave Pope Benedict XVI a round of applause.


Vatican City (AsiaNews) - After the Mass for the Immaculate Conception, and the solemn inauguration of the Jubilee of Mercy with opening of the Holy Door at St Peter’s Basilica, Pope Francis led the crowds in today’s Angelus.
The Immaculate Conception, the feast that falls today, has a deep connection with the Jubilee of Mercy. “Mary,” the pope explained, “is the first saved by the Father’s infinite mercy, as the first fruit of the salvation that God wills to give, in Christ, to every man and woman. Therefore, the Immaculate ‘Virgin’ becomes the sublime icon of Divine Mercy that conquered sin. And we, today, at the beginning of the Jubilee of Mercy, want to look at this icon with confident love and contemplate her in all her splendour, imitating her faith.”
Celebrating the feast of the Immaculate does not only mean "fully accepting God's mercy and grace in our lives", but also that "we become in turn architects of mercy through a genuine evangelical journey. Therefore, the feast of the Immaculate Conception becomes the feast of us all if, with our daily ‘yes’, we can overcome our selfishness and make the lives of our brothers and sisters happier, and give them hope, drying tears and giving a bit of joy.”
“In imitation of Mary, we are called to become bearers of Christ and witnesses of His love, looking first of all at those who are the privileged ones in Jesus’ eyes. They are those who He himself indicated, ‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me’ (Mt, 25: 35-36)".
“We should not be afraid. We should allow ourselves to be embraced by the mercy of God, who awaits for us and forgives everything,” he said without his written test. “Nothing is sweeter than His mercy; let ourselves be caressed by God. [. . .] Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, may mercy take hold of our hearts and transform our whole life,” he said in concluding.
After the Angelus, the pontiff told the faithful that he would go to the Spanish Steps in the afternoon, to pray at the foot of the monument dedicated to the Immaculate, which stands in the square. He also said that after that he would go to Saint Mary Major Basilica to pray before the icon of Mary, Salvation of the Roman people.
"Please, join me spiritually in this pilgrimage,” he told the crowd. This is “an act of filial devotion to Mary, Mother of Mercy. To her I entrust the Church and all humanity, especially the city of Rome."
Towards the end of the greetings, he said that "today, the beginning [of the Holy Year], Pope Benedict [XVI] also crossed the Door of Mercy. Let us all send greetings to Pope Benedict." And the crowd cheered.

An interesting fact regarding Dr Joel Beeke’s Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary has just come to light, thanks to research done by the Editors of “Banash” website, Sharon Kirker and Marie O’Prey.

The Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary has received accreditation from ‘The Association of Theological Schools’.

The Association website has this ‘blurb’ by way of introduction to just what it is.

By the way, for our UK friends who may wonder, in Wisconsin, as in many states, one can carry a gun openly without a permit of any kind. The Jewish leaders and the scribes, knew well the Old Testament Scriptures, concerning the coming of the Messiah. 
They saw His miracles, the fulfillment of so many prophecies, they saw the dead raised, the blind given sight, the lame walking, the lepers cleansed.
But "for envy" they delivered Him up to be crucified; that too was foretold in many Scriptures, like Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22.
To add to this rejection of their Messiah, the TALMUDIC LAW states the following:

“May the bones of the hands and the bones of the fingers decay and decompose, of him who turns the pages of the book of Daniel, to find out the TIME of Daniel 9:24-27, and may his memory rot from off the face of the earth forever.”

The scholars know that when you calculate the time of the Messiah, using Daniel 9 as the prophetic template, you come to one Messiah: Jesus Christ. But they rejected Him. The stone that was rejected turned out to be the capstone, the corner stone, the foundation. No other foundation can we have than that which is Christ Jesus, the Bible says. Israel rejected this Messiah that their own scriptures point to, and say, "Blasted be the ones if you try and calculate why he didn't come." This is Jewish Talmudic theology regarding the absence of the timely Messiah.

New details related to the Islamic terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, California have emerged, revealing the possibility that the shooters were in contact with members of Al Qaeda and the Islamic State.

The male and female were wearing protective vests and carrying several firearms when they were gunned down by police after the massacre. Local officials reported the name of the female suspect in San Bernardino shooting as – Tashfeen Malik.

Those who were waiting for the official release of the Pope Francis climate change encyclical before believing their “lying eyes” may still want to wait until Thursday to make up their minds. That’s when the official ceremony with infamous climate Nazi Hans Joachim Schellnhuber will be held announcing the Papal plan for us to all curl up into fetal balls and surrender to the United Nations.
It’s a detestable thought and it’s understandable that people would be reluctant to accept betrayal on such a grand scale. Saddam Hussein professed a belief that George W. Bush would never really execute him, one he maintained until he found himself dangling by a rope. Sometimes people are hopeful to a fault.
The Italian magazine L’Espresso has leaked a draft copy of the 192 page document in Italian, a version which the Vatican says does not represent the final text. It’s unlikely that means that the global government portions were just a trial balloon and the sections on Marxist wealth redistribution from wealthy nations to poor will be ultimately scrubbed. The substance will remain the same.

Senate committee calls for halal overhaul

All food certified as halal should be labelled as such when sold in Australia and the halal industry should establish a single certifying authority and trademark to counter consumer mistrust, a Senate committee has recommended.
Regulation of halal in the domestic market was lacklustre, according to the report of the Economics References Committee, which said it had heard "credible reports suggesting that the lack of regulation has been unscrupulously exploited".
In tabling the report in the Senate, committee chairman Sam Dastyari went further, claiming: "Some certifiers are nothing more than scammers."
"This has undermined public confidence and, in the committee's view, amplified the perceived seriousness of any shortcomings that may exist," he said.
"It is an inescapable fact that halal certification is poorly understood, and arguably under-regulated, certainly in the domestic market. This compromises the integrity of the system and has allowed questionable conduct by certifiers of questionable expertise, and questionable intent."
The Economics References Committee has asked the Turnbull government to consider extending its oversight of halal-certified export meat to all halal goods sold in the domestic market.
The inquiry, whose creation was driven by Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi, considered kosher and organic certification.
It recommended all meat sourced from animals subjected to religious slaughter should be labelled as such.
Currently, meat that is certified halal for key export markets can turn up for sale in butchers and supermarkets without any labelling to show it is halal.
Anti-halal campaigners who described it as a "religious tax" that funds the promotion and spread of Islam deluged the inquiry with more than 1400 submissions, many calling for halal to be banned.
The committee, which heard from representatives of the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing agency AUSTRAC (Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre), did not find any basis for claims that halal funds terrorism overseas.
But Senator Bernardi said in additional comments to the report that AUSTRAC had conceded in evidence that it had not actually investigated whether a direct link existed.
"They are making a statement about something they haven't even investigated," he said.
Senator Bernardi was critical of the many halal certifiers, with the exception of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, which refused to engage with the inquiry.
The committee criticised the "vitriolic nature" of many of the published submissions by the public, saying a "pronounced anti-Islamic tenor permeated a regrettably large proportion" of them.
The push for clearer labelling is likely to disappoint the Australian Food and Grocery Council, which has said the decision should be up to food producers.
"It is the manufacturer who pays for third party certification of food and who should therefore be free to decide when and how that certification is to be used," the council said in its submission.
"A further consideration is that labelling is a costly exercise with long lead times."

Two Types of Terrorism While the world is focused on the deadly terrorists attacks by radical Muslim jihadists, there is another terrorist attack that has been going on much longer and is much more dangerous because of its ETERNAL consequences. As we mourn over the loss of physical life and grieve with those who lost loved ones, we realize these tragedies are occurring far too often and in far too many places. It is good to know that some governments have finally declared war on ISIS and are pooling their resources to destroy them before they destroy us. Wouldn't it be nice if the Body of Christ could unite against the spiritual terrorists that are attacking the Gospel of Jesus Christ?There are far too many of them in our churches that are leading people down the broad road to destruction. These terrorists are destroying spiritual lives with their perversions of the Gospel and they get away with it because they disguise themselves as servants of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:15). As deceitful workers, they raise doubts about God's Word, undermine its authority and deceive people with a false and fatal gospel. The only defense against such deadly activity is to expose their evil deeds of darkness (Eph. 5:11). They need to be identified by name so that gullible people will not be caught in their web of deception. Unmasking terrorists is critical for the glory and honor of our Savior and the sanctity of His Church.. Tragically, the evangelical church seems oblivious, unconcerned and indifferent to Satan's army of terrorists who have infiltrated the church with the objective of destroying lives. There is a war going on inside the church that is being ignored because the enemy is disguised as an angel of light and clothes himself in sheep's clothing. As we look as the recent history of the church, we see the great destruction that has been caused by the fiery darts of spiritual terrorists. Satan has planted these terrorist with little or no resistance. The terrorists who are hidden in the church are much more dangerous than the terrorists who are hidden in the neighborhoods of the world because those terrorists can only cause physical death. The terrorists in the church can cause eternal spiritual death with their damnable lies. More than ever we need to contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 3). Our armor and strategy to defend the Body of Christ against spiritual terrorism is found in Ephesians 6:10-20. All of us need to be faithful soldiers for Christ.

Blogger's Note: While this Jesuit Pope swans around Africa, deceiving and being deceived, the Christian Church is focused on ISLAM, as this (obvious) enemy. The Vatican and Islam have a long history of "brotherhood."
